Wizard World Austin Comic Con

Hello creative writers!,

I had the great fortune of spending my Friday at comic con! As a self admitted nerd I will proudly announce that my loyalties to word bubbles and black and white panels run deep. This was my first convention here in Austin and I am very happy to present to you a video I put together. In this video four comic book writers tell us a bit about what they’re working on and what you can look forward to seeing happen here in the Austin comic book scene. Click the link to watch the video (and ignore the fact that in all my brilliance I covered the microphone with my finger during the second interview)!

Comic Con

I had an incredible time at the convention as did a couple of my friends who showed up in fantastic costumes

Nichole and Scott as Harvey Birdman and Molotov Cocktease

Anyone ever heard of Captain N? Me either, until my friend showed up dressed as him.

One of the best things that happened to me at the con was meeting this girl. In many mmorpgs such as World of Warcraft characters with yellow exclamation points above their heads generally assign quests. When this girl walked by I asked if she had a quests for me, and she did! She handed me a sheet of paper with a quest written in WoW dialect. I was stoked.

And speaking of comics, is anyone following The Walking Dead (television show or comic series)? What do you think about the parallels and differences between the two? Do you love it or hate it? Do you, like me, wonder how there can be so many zombies when a zombie is intent on eating a person? I mean, seriously, if zombies eat people then why aren’t there more skeletons less zombies? Just a thought.
